08/22/09 Uniting for America- Lake Eola, 6pm-8pm
On August 22, Floridians Unite will be hosting the Uniting for America Event at the beautiful Lake Eola Amphitheater in downtown Orlando from 6pm-8pm. Please join us for a peaceful and patriotic celebration of America aimed at arming citizens with the facts about the most pressing national issues and the resources and tools to become politically active citizens. Uniting for America will be a call to action, mobilizing the grassroots movement in Florida to reclaim control of their government by reminding our elected representatives that they work for us.
The event will be emceed by the talented Lloyd Marcus who wrote and introduced the first Tea Party song at the March 21st Tea Party. Reputable speakers will provide information about current legislation and how it will impact the average citizen, the national economy and our freedom. Notable speakers will address the audience about cap and trade, H.R. 3200 health care bill, state sovereignty, immigration and the how-to's of activism. The event will also offer a variety of booths to educate, motive and facilitate community activism. First Coast Tea Party of Jacksonville will be attending and bringing their Tea Party ship, the Dartmouth, and we will also be joined by the Lakeland Tea Party group and the North Lake County Tea Party group as well as organizers from Tampa. 7/17/09 Healthcare Freedom Rally
There will be a second Healthcare Freedom Rally on July 17th to remind our representatives that we expect them to vote "NO" on the upcoming Universal Healthcare legislation. Shelly and I were unable to organize this round so Barry Bench has stepped up and will be at Nelson's Orlando office from noon to 6:00 on Friday. Bring your signs and visit their office personally and let them know that the Silent Majority will be silent no longer!!

On July 2nd, join us at your nearest local legislator's office to tell them to say "NO" to the Obama Healthcare Reform Plan. The plan will ultimately take individual choice from health care options, restrict doctor control over patient care and implement an enormous tax burdens on Americans. To learn more about how you can participate and why Obama's plan WILL NOT work, click here.

The rally at Nelson's office was a huge success. We got over 80 signatures on our "No Government Healthcare" and "No Cap and Trade" petitions and estimated about 40-50 people were able to get into the office and meet with Nelson's people. We had much support from passers by and even four ACORN counter-protesters.
