FACT: The Boston Tea Party was mainly precipitated by what amounted to a corporate tax cut.

Colonists, disgusted by the Stamp Act and other oppressive British legislation, organized a boycott of the world's first mega-corporation: the British East India Company.

In order to ameliorate financial losses caused by the boycott, Parlaiment passed the Tea Act of 1773, which significantly reduced the taxes/duty on tea sold by the East India Company, thus allowing this mega-corporation to sell directly to the colonies and to significantly undercut independent prices offered by smaller colonial tea companies.

And so the famous Boston Tea Party was organized.

This "uprising", ostensibly to protest helping middle and working class homeowners, is more closely in line with having a tea party -- in support of the British East India Company.

600 million could get the homeless off the street and give them a new start and if we quit outsourcing jobs these people can sleep in a bed again and have a job to go to. Next time you go shopping see how many things you can find that says made in America. I usde to have Direct T.V. called customer service one night and reached some customer service in another country I could not even understand them. Here's hoping the tea party is only the start. Here's a revolutionary idea... What if American taxpayers pledge to not file income taxes next year? If only a fraction of 155.2 million people in the labor force committed themselves to the idea, the Infernal Revenue Service and its evil twin, the Federal Reserve would wither and die the deaths they deserve. We need modern-day Jeffersons, Adamses and Madisons to heed to the call. No taxation without REAL representation.

What Could You Do with $787 Billion...

1. If you split it up and gave it to every man, woman and child in the United States, everyone would get about twenty-six hundred bucks.

2. The United State Census estimates the current population of the US to be about 305,862,000. A conservative estimate of the number of people living in the US illegally is around 11 million. So if you excluded them, even legal residents (and their children) would get another $100 each for a grand pay out of $2,700 for everyone in America legally.

3. If US Census figures are credible, then close to 230 million people are of voting age. So if we don't give the kids a big allowance check then all grown ups would be about $3,400 richer.

4. If we sent an even share of the $787 billion to every household in the United States, then look in your mailbox for a $7,100 check.

5. We could just split the money with all working people. After all, it rightfully belongs to them. All workers (even those on unemployment) would get a check for a little over five grand.

5. We could really help out those with low to middle incomes and give the money to households making less than $50,000 per year. 77 million households would get a big fat $10,200 bonus.

6. Parents really need a break in these hard times. If we sent a check to every household with children under 18, then parents could go deposit about $22,400 in the bank. That would be change I could believe in.

7. Or, we could do what it looks like we are going to do - waste it all.

Pouring capital into this socialist scheme seems like an oxymoron to me. To those who think the Star Spangled Banner is hard to sing, guess what? The Internationale is no piece of cake either.

Will there be speakers? I read in the Kansas City Tea Party report that 200 people came out in a snow storm but they had no speakers. They are planning their second one with speakers. If you listen to Obama speaches he uses the word Crisis over & over & over again. 28 times in one speech. The REAL CRISIS IS THAT HE IS IN OFFICE and is trying to bring America to her knees. How We Got Here

First I would like to put several stakes in the ground. First stake, we are a country of consumers, if we do not consume, we will wither and die. We are a capitalist country. That is, we have a system that was primarily designed to allow a family to generate income from their work. Initially and ideally there is enough income to be used to pay for a family’s NEEDS, SAVE some money in the bank and have some left over for their WANTS.

As a society we cannot survive if we only have enough income to pay for our needs. We must have enough income after we pay for our NEEDS to CONSUME the things we WANT. After all, how many shoes do you really need? How many TV’s do you really need? How many DVD’s do you really need? How much variety in food do you really need? And still have money left over at the end of the day to put some in the bank. This has been clearly demonstrated with the spike in fuel cost. The American people stopped consuming what the WANTED to pay for what they NEEDED.

Right now the concern is JOBS, what can we do to put the people back to work and reduce unemployment? If there is no demand (CONSUMPTION) there is no production if there is no production there are no jobs. Without DESRETIONARY INCOME there is not enough CONSUMPTION to keep our people employed. It really is just that simple. It is clear to me that we should be looking at ways to help our families increase their DECRETIONARY INCOME.

This problem did not happen overnight. It started at the turn of the century and it is due to human nature and the mismanagement of our country’s business (government) and over time the perversion of the Constitution by our elected representatives, both of which can be corrected.

So, what has eroded our DECRETIONARY INCOME? First and foremost, TAXES! Second…..Home Loans…..Third Transportation cost….. Energy and last health care. All these things we can address in innovative and meaningful ways without borrowing and putting our country in further debt and at the same time provide significant stimulation to the economy.

To give some perspective, in 1913 50% of the employees in America made less than $800.00 per year. Average income was about $15,000.00 per year the population was 97,225,000. 1913 was the year congress started income tax. The rate was 3% to a top marginal rate of 7%. Income tax collected in 1913 was equal to $.73 per capita.

The only expenses families had 1n 1913 was; food, clothing & shelter for the most part. Henry Ford built his first Model T car in 1908 and opened up his assembling line in 1913. Therefore not many people had cars back at the turn of the century. Basically, after food, clothing & shelter in the form of rent or mortgage everything else was discretionary income. It wasn’t until 1919 the RCA mass produced radios of home use.

Today however it is a different story. We have a population of 301,139,947 people and the income tax collected is equal to $8,534.00 per capita. Now let’s look at our families expenses today; Food, Clothing, Shelter with that shelter comes (insurance, garbage pick-up, water, electricity), Appliances (TV, Radio, VCR / VCR Tapes, DVD players / DVD Movies, MP3’s, Toaster/Toaster ovens, Coffee makers, Ovens, Refrigerators, Computer, virus protection, flash drives, software, phone, fax, cell phone, healthcare insurance, mortgage insurance, life insurance, auto insurance, and then there is the automobile, not just one but two or three per family-oil, gas, tires, tune-ups.

Our government has increased our taxes without giving consideration to the fact that our population has grown, (more contributors), inflation has grown, (same percent gives a high payout). Let me demonstrate: realtors get a 7% commission on the sale of a home, it has been that way since commissions have been paid on the sales of homes. If, in 1913 a home sold for $1,000.00 the commission at 7% would be $70.00. If that same home sold today for $250,000.00, the commission would be $17,500.00. The percentage did not change but the price of the house did. Let me ask you a question, what has happened to our incomes and our population since 1913? Income tax collect

Just a small suggestion, mabye you could put a page on the website that has items you may need to make sure this event goes smoothly. Things such as audio equipment, food, drinks, etc. Those might be good contributions for the Americans that may not be able to donate financially. Just a thought. However if fellow Republicans analyzed this recent bill you will discover that less than 2% are earmarks.

Read the bill, don't just listen to talk show hosts and failed bankers. You'll learn that much you are told is hype for party loyalty.

Since the party has been disloyal to us, I have decided to research, research, research. I've learned that most of what our Republican "leaders" are telling us is exaggerated or distorted.

Dan, I realize this is not a forum, but I am one who makes less than 250,000 a year. I am going to the Tea Party for my children. I am protesting government out of control. A government who will be leaving a debt too big to repay. A government who will tax my children out of the quality of life that we have enjoyed. A government who thinks they have the right to deterimine who is rich and who isn't. A government who thinks they have the right to take the hard earned money of their citizens and give it to whoever they deem needs it more. A government who thinks capitalism does not work. A government who cannot see that they are the problem.

Our Founders recognized that the moment the government is authorized to start leveling the material possesions of the rich in order to have an equal distrubution of goods, the government thereafter has the power to deprive ANY of the people their equal rights to enjoy thier lives, liberties and property.

I loved Alan's analysis and breakdown of dividing up the $787 billion and giving it back to the taxpayers so that the free market could spend it as they saw fit. What a concept!!! The free market making the decisions of what companies should succeed and which should fail by voting with their wallets, instead of centralized government planning making the decision. Obama needs to look at that 1920 recession and how Coolidge handled it. As Obama seeks to demonize business he should instead understand Coolidge, who said among many other things that "Large profits mean large payrolls" and "Government can never relieve man of toil" I will be in Orlando in the 21st. When it became obvious that the liberal based media would help in Obama buying the Oval Office. I sounded warnings to anyone who would listen. For the past couple of years I have been talking about the Socialist - Communist Agenda of not only Barack Obama, but the entire liberal left.

And still people looked at me and people thought I was being either a racist or I was simply crazy.

I wish I had been crazy. But now is not the time for wishing, whining, crying or complaining.

Those times ended on Nov 8th, 2008.

NOW my friends, is the time for doing. Now is the time to take back out Country, our Constitution and Liberties. Now is the time to clean house, and take these politicians who think they rule our lives, who think they run things, and remind they that THEY work for We The People. It is time to remind these politicians that the only thing they really run is their mouth, and then it's nothing but lies that they spew out anyway.

A couple hundred years ago, it would have been past due time to march on the capitol with pitchforks, tar, feathers and a few flaming torches.

I am one of the MANY who do not make $250,000 who will be there. Why, you ask? Because I detest socialism! I did not serve in the Marine Corps just to sit back and see my country sink into that slimepit. Although I an a registered Republican I will not be there primarily to support Republicans, but CONSERVATIVES who feel the same way I do. Up until this year I had considered myself a "bleeding heart" liberal democrat. First of all- come off your high horse, thanks for serving, but dont bash those who didnt and try to make them feel bad they they have not served. Dont play the "I served in the ___ what have you done?" card. You should try to be humble. What matters is that you, and others, make your mark on the map somehow. You can do it through church, business, charity, military, whatever.

The government would not have 1) Signed legislation closing Gitmo 2) Authorized funding for foreign abortions. 3) Probably would not have had a tax cheat in charge of the IRS, or other tax cheats in the admin. 4) Drilled for oil in our own boundaries. 5) We would probably have spent money, but nothing as WRECKLESS as what we are seeing now. 6) Say yes to Cuba and NO to Columbia, one of our staunch allies.
7) We would not have meet with Syria. A country that was, and probably still is contributing to the deaths of our troops in Iraq.

It is your fault you invested in such a crappy car company, not others. GM would have tanked under a McCain presidency as well. Because they suck.

Want my solution for getting america out of the mess?

1) Cut taxes...everywhere. This includes the wealthy, or, most of the job creators in this country. Cutting taxes has ALWAYS led to getting out of a recession. Pass the Fair Tax, a consumption based tax. Work should NEVER be taxed. 2) Let stupid companies (like GM) fail. Others should take its place, at least that's how it is supposed to work. 3) You wanna hand out money fine. Lets give it to entrepreneurs who want to start a business that MAKES stuff. 4) Impose term limits on ALL elected officials.
